todae had national day celebration. we r supposed to wear red or/and white, wif culottes if u want, so i wore a white shirt wif red, and culottes. n it was very fun n memorable! we had fun n a rather ok view, and we sang national day songs, like [where i belong], [home], [chan mali chan], [stand up for singapore], [count on me ,singapore], and so on. haha. my class was the craziest. we jumped n bounced to every beat for the chorus, n made up all kinds of weird actions for different songs, n link arms n sway to the music, or run in a circle like a train, n we formed a circle n started singing so loudly, that im surprised not everyone was staring at our class. haha.
in primary school we were always embarrassed to clap our hands to the music or wave our hands around, but today i wasn't. i was proud to b part of my class and having fun. haha. bcos of one person's initiative to start off the actions, everyone started doing the action too. haha. n we didn't care abt wad other classes think. they r having fun too, n playing wif balloons. that were taken down, n everyone was throwing them around n bursting them. haha. it was fun! the most fun and interesting celebration of national day ever! haha. there were performances.
sec 1---top 3 classes of inter-class song-writing competition. our class didn't get in, haha. but it's ok. the 3 classes all haf sme sort of rap in it. hahaha.
sec 2---first class of inter-class skit competition. haha. was all abt a grp of students who do not appreciate singapore's cultures n stuff, then at the end realise how wonderful singapore is n blah. n concluded that we muz haf foreign talents to haf an even better singapore. pah. thought they were talking abt singaporeans very good? now become muz rely on foreign talents. :P
sec 3---top 3 classes of inter-class dance competition. was quite nice wif mixtures of diff music and dance. haha. like got malay dance mixed wif indian dance mixed wif modern dance mixed wif chinese music. n music oso diff lor. haha
sec 4---all the classes for fashion show competition. they had one person dressed up in wadeva way they want, n another to say wad each ornament represents. like "those spikes on her hat represents our esplanade" and "the transparent shawl represents our transparent government" or "those wonderful shoes represent our steady foundation of government" and abt the stars and chopsticks n so on. haha. some ppl looked over-dressed wif cans, newspaper, and the person hosting was like saying "how environmental frenly it is, juz like singapore". haha. very interesting.
n we haf a fancy drill too, wif our 4 uniform groups (girl guides, girl's brigade, red cross, and ncc), wif 4 members frm each marching in n marching around wif the mcs talking abt wad each grp represent in singapore and their importance. yep.
b4 that, we had the marching contingent wif the uniform grps ppl carrying the flag in n singing the national anthem . our school song too. wif the band playing. and our principal read the national day message by our acting minister of education, and a speech by one of our guests, who was a sportsperson n represented singapore n went to SEA games twice for squash. haha. he was more of talking abt himself and his life then national day, but still, it was very boring. haha. only the performances of the sec 1-4 classes r nice. n the singing. haha.
went to ava room to watch movie: lord of the rings--the return of the king. for any singapore currency coin. haha. brought 5 cents lor.haha. n watched. very nice n touching. n it was very cold inside, n was rubbing my hands while watching. haha. still, it was really nice. then ate lunch and went home. the whole school was so quiet and deserted by the time i went home, bcos they went home straight away after the celebration.
i was the only on watching at first, when a few more ppl came along. haha. i was so pitiful lor, wondering if there was a movie at all that day or not n then only one there, so scary. my psl told my class sme story abt the ava room. so i was sorta thinking abt it. haha. n the smell of paint is always so strong in there. maybe i am breathing in all the toxins and chemicals of paint while i was in there. haha. :P
well, dat is basically wad happened todae, and i hope next year's celebration will be as fun as this, or even better! all the best to everyone, and HAPPY 39TH BIRTHDAE, SINGAPORE!!!!!!
