two days ago, tuesday, i went to support track and field national competition.
there was 1500m heats, b division. we thought no one frm our sch was running, so everyone was admiring the 2nd girl, who was very chio, frm singapore sports school (ssp) and runs very fast! but in the end, we suddenly saw this familiar girl who wears that familiar band around her head, and realised we didn't cheer for her! n we saw her right at the very end, 1 second b4 she ended her race! haha.
n when i say everyone, that means girls frm our sch's track n field who were supporting, mainly consisting of wenwei and leanne. i wasn't as serious a case as them, but seriously, she is very chio.
her name, as i found out, was Sophie Ngin Gollifer.
I think she is a eurasian. that's y she's very pretty, but she has dark hair, so she doesn't look too out.
n i put her name on google, and there were many articles abt her, ssp's website oso haf her. cool man!
n a girl frm rjc (whee!) broke a record for a division girls high jump. her name is Michelle Sng Suat Li.
the previous record was 1.66m, and she was attempting 1.68m, a new record, and it was announced over the microphone, so everyone's attention suddenly all focus on her. poor girl. she's so stressed!
but the 400m ppl were even more poor things. they were running when michelle was preparing herself, so hardly anyone was cheering for them as everyone was looking at Michelle. haha.
she made gestures with her hands, visualising how she shd run n jump up, frm which side, slant how much n blah. n maybe waiting for the wind to be in her favour? well, anyway, she jumped
leanne was whispering under her breath,"go michelle,go michelle" n she was so excited. haha. then michelle went on to attempt 1.72m.
again, she prepared herself
she went on to try 1.75m.
she tried first time, n it was very close! her body went over, but her bottom hit the pole. sigh. so close. then she tried n tried. guess she was tired alrd. so she didn't manage to go over. 3rd time, she didnt go over, everyone went awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
really! u can hear it. but still, she broke a record! 1.72m. cool. wonder if smeone else will ever break her record next yr.
then, for triple jump b division, our jumpers did their best. n one of them, xiao hui, broke a record. we didnt noe, but the jumps coach said that she did, bcos the jumps coach saw her jump very far, at least 11.smething metres, and when the officials went over to double-check, that means smeone has broken record.
yay! rgs jumper broke record!she was first, wif a result of 11.28m! yay!
n nygh was very gd too! their jumper, charmaine, broke record too, coming in 2nd, wif a result of 11.13m. cool, huh?
looks like girls broke more record this yr. but i guess boys haf alrd set very high records, while girls' r not so high. yepz.
gd luck to all who haf more events, especially chew min! n nicole n andrea n jane! haha. n pat n katho n abi n darrine n yu shan n janice n everyone else! plus all relay runners representing rgs! gd luck to all! do ur best!

dat's all. but to all runners, i noe how nervous u feel b4 ur race. i noe how scared u feel n how stressed u r. but no matter how well u do or how badly u do, i will always be supporting u! juz do ur best, n i juz want u to noe that, u r not alone. we r all behind u all the way!!!!! :)
