sorry for not blogging for such a long time. I was busy. :D
Todae had petit test 3. it was not very difficult, but it was more difficult than last year's paper. not fair! the choices last year was very obvious, but this yr is not that obvious! well, it's still not so difficult. haha
tell u all about the recently concluded track and field championships'04 finals. on wednesday.
reached at abt 1pm. there were a group of tchs boys there alrd, in red. sme even had paint in their hair, red and yellow. they were cheering very loudly, but the problem is, there is no one there to hear them cheer, and it's more than 2 hours b4 the race begin! n the flag-bearers were running around the stadium, and they so bad one! they shouted
siam lar! when they went past us. i mean, can't they be more civilised and at least sae
excuse me? After all, we r girls! fine.
my fren was saying that the boys were cheering so that they could be heard, bcos they noe that later on, they won't be heard. haha. n their banners r nice. sji's r oso very nice. especially the flag-bearers. they were waving their flags, though not very synchronised, but it was quite nice. haha.
then, i wasa running around finding shirley, and i saw leena, qing yang and uma. haha. leena brought me to the tchs side to find anyone we know, but well, i saw only shi jun. and i realised everytime i see leena, i will see shi jun! like during cross-country competitions in feb/march, i saw leena 3 times. i oso saw shi jun 3 times, either b4 or after i saw leena. haha. maybe they r fated. ahahaha. C'est très intéressant! haha.
n shirley claims that she does not hope to see me, but when she did, she was so happy lor! she was like
"Hi JOY!!!!!", all happy and very obviously delighted to see me, n still denies that she is. haha. too bad shirl, i noe u really miss me. haha.
when the race started, rgs was cheering very loud for ri and rjc, bcos they r oso rafflesian schools. i realised that they r no ri boys at all, while there r a handful of rjc boys. the boys r quite, erm, not-as-enthu-as-the-girls? we were cheering as though it was our sch, n when it was our sch, they weren't exactly enthusiastic abt it. yeah. the ri boys weren't there bcos they had long day that dae, so they would b arriving later.
when they finally arrive, which is like 1 hour after the race started, they didn't cheer for us lor! they didn't even cheer for their own sch, not too say other rafflesian schools! i dun even noe wad they r there for? they r juz making use of rgs's voices to cheer fot their own sch! where's the rafflesain spirit in them?
it drizzled, n everyone whipped out their umbrella. i took mine too, but thought it was juz a drizzle, so left it there. then i realised the teachers were using my umbrella! without my permission! but nvm, i dun need it anw. suddenly, it became such a heavy downpour that i can barely see anything, and everyone was screaming and scrambling for the nearest shelter, which is out of the stadium. i squeezed into dunno whose umbrella, i think it's francesca's, n was sharing it wif 6 ppl. haha.
6 ppl in an umbrella. i am alrd wet through, and the umbrella didn't really shelter well, so im all cold n wet n basically finding the rain fun. then i rmb that my bag is smewhere up there in the rain! so i rushed up n retrieved my bag and rushed to the shelter too. i realised both the teachers AND MY UMBRELLA WAS GONE!
my beloved yellow umbrella. sigh. i would rather shelter my bag wif my umbrella than shelter myself. all my worksheets in it was wet, and fullscap paper too! n torn too. sigh. then i was like drying them when i go home. haha. my handphone and calculator were wet as well.
n it was my first time in such a heavy rain! totally cool man! but when i became a flu-stricken, no voice, coughing-and-sneezing-and-bowing-my-nose mess the next day, i dun think it was DAT nice after all. n shirl said she was playing wif the rain, having fun wif it, n trying to collect rainwater in her bag. haha. she's a crazy one.
my throat was hurting wif every single sound i made, but when i was cheering, i forgot all abt my throat. after that, my throat hurt even more. haha. but i dun care lar. i knew i will b sick the next day, but i want to make the best of the day!
well, cedar was very loud, so loud that i carn even hear nygh, n tchs, the whole sch, i can oso barely hear them too. n i think the whole cedar sch was there, plus their alumni, frm njc and dunno wad jc. haha. even when we were in the shelter, we were cheering. *we means rgs, ri wasn't cheering. i saw THEM STANDING THERE, LOOKING EMBARRASSED TO EVEN OPEN THEIR PRECIOUS MOUTHS, TO HURT THEIR PRECIOUS THROATS, AS THOUGH GOLD WILL FALL OUT IF THEY OPEN THEIR MOUTHS!*
wadeva. unenthu ppl they r. well, n cedar was trying to compete wif us when we were cheering in the shelter. haha. n my favourite part was when rgs sang one of our very own songs. n everyone linked arms n were swaying together. haha. it was lovely.
then when we go out, the race started alrd. 4x100m c div girls. well, u all did ur best! it's ok whether u win or not, it's alrd good that u all got into finals! well done everyone! n when i saw poor abi wif her leg all bandaged up and still running 800m, i was like, wad is she doing there wif her leg hurt? in the end janice was accompanying her to finish the race, but still, katho did us all proud!!!!!
we were trying to maintain our 4th position for b div so that we can get a prize. if u r 5th, then u wun haf a prize. c div is very difficult to win alrd. i think that the b div do better bcos they had the very strict coach who pushes them very hard. although most of them ended up hurt smewhere when she was coaching them, they improved a lot n was better.
afterwards, we went down to wait for our turn to go out onto the track. all t n f ppl frm our sch was to go down, so there i was, worried that the floor will haf holes, bcos the tchs boys, who look like hooligans in a red shirt n yellow-n-red-dyed hair, plus painted faces, and they were banging their poles so hard on the floor! haha.
finally, we went out onto the track, which was significantly wet, n when we sat down, our shorts, which were finally dried frm the rain, became wet again. argh. n it was utterly disgusting. wet shorts sticking to ur legs. ew.
they were giving out prizes for the events, n we cheered when any rafflesian sch got a prize. oh, n rjc was champions for both girls AND boys a div! haha. hcjc isn't very good at t n f. haha. ri was, dunno where lar. haha. oh n rjc ppl dyed their hair green and white. haha. raffles colours. green, black and white.
then, we ran around the track wif the flag-bearer in front, and ended in front of our sch, n we sang the sch song. then ri and rjc sang their sch songs, then the ppl went off. t n f ppl were taking photos, and a poor ri boy was juz taking out his camera to take our photos when we decided that it was enough and went off. haha. poor thing. he was like,
hey, i want to take photos! hey!
then we went to the west entrance, and i was grieving the loss of my umbrella. haha. we were standing around, waiting for our buses to arrive to go to plaza sing. swensen's for t n f dinner. yep. n we waited, n waited, n waited. no bus came.
smeone was like saying,
"hi joy!" i turned n looked.
first thought was, who is he?
2nd thought. ri boy?
3rd thought. no. wearing red. n red band around head.
4th thought. frm tchs.
5th thought. who is he? do i noe him?
6th thought. did he call smeone else?
7th thought. wait. he's familiar. who is he...ohhhhhh he's hongsheng!
ah well. n finally i said hi to him. haha. my reaction very slow lar. n sorry for not recognising u. u seriously look weird wif a red band aroung ur head. hahaha. n wenwei was shouting LOSER at him n she was making an "L" wif her hand. haha.
in the end, yu shan,my captain told us that the bus is not coming. it has left or smething. n we had to go ourselves. n wad time was it? 8pm. n i wasn't even hungry. weird. then a small group of us sec 1s n 2 sec 4s went to take bus. waited 20 min. realised that we were the only rgs ppl there. the rest took taxi. so finally, around 8.50pm, we arrived. last ppl to arrive of course. n no space for us. so we shared chairs. n i was going to fall off the chair if not for my leg hooking around the leg of the chair. yeah. hanging on for dear life. haha.
didn't feel hungry, so was very full by the time i finished. it was very ex. spent $14.50 on dat measley little chicken. should haf asked for a salad or smething, like pat did. haha. yeah, handed up letter to
my coach, mr tan, not jagong, ok? haha.
then, received a note frm my captain and long-dist captain. it was very heart-warming. *sniffsniff* they r leaving end of this year. although yu shan was very strict wif us, she is a very nice. really! sec 1s, dun be afraid of her lah. she's really nice! katho is also very nice! im going to miss the sec 4s.
altogether, t n f nationals is a very memorable event! love it! yar, i feel the pride and honour, and also the rafflesian spirit! look forward to next yr's t n f nationals! cross-country season next...haha...well done everyone! continue working hard! all of u haf da potential to b better!!!
